James Mannion

James Mannion is a chaplain and spiritual director. He is a Vajrayana student of Lama Justin von Bujdoss and a Zen student of Geoffrey Shugen Arnold, Roshi. He has completed six years of residential Zen training in the Mountains and Rivers Order. James recently completed a year-long chaplaincy residency at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and is currently doing a second year of chaplaincy residency at New York-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center. His training as a spiritual director includes completing the Still Harbor Spiritual Direction Practicum, and he holds an MDiv in Buddhism and Interreligious Engagement from Union Theological Seminary in NYC. James is excited to offer spiritual care grounded in Vajrayana practice. His approach is non-directive and open to what is most alive for the careseeker in each session.
